About Us
Young Authors' Alliance (YAA) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of writers by making high quality creative writing education accessible to every young person, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. Founded by high school students in Southern California, YAA was created in response to the growing decline in youth literacy, creative expression, and access to meaningful arts education. We believe every young person has a story worth telling, and that writing is one of the most powerful tools for building confidence, developing empathy, strengthening critical thinking, and creating positive change in the world.

We offer a range of free services from writing camps, workshops, youth leadership development, community partnerships, mentorship, our Ambassador Program, and a welcoming international community. YAA provides students ages 12 to 17 with opportunities to develop their craft, discover their authentic voices, and connect with fellow young writers from around the world.

What began as a small student led initiative has grown into an international network reaching young writers across more than 20 countries and five continents. As we continue to expand, our mission remains the same: to inspire a lifelong love of writing, cultivate the next generation of authors, storytellers, journalists, poets, and changemakers, and ensure that every young person has the opportunity to be heard.
