About Us

Young Authors' Alliance (YAA) is a platform made by youth for youth in order to share our passion for literary arts. It is our goal to inspire our students, improve their current writing, share their accomplishments, and help them create stories. YAA offers summer camps, workshops, Ambassador Programs, and college mentorship opportunities for youth ages 12-17 to share knowledge on a variety of writing styles. All of the services of the Young Authors' Alliance are free.

Based in Southern California, our organization was started by a dedicated group of high schoolers who love to read and write. YAA is an international organization with writers in over 7 countries and 4 continents to support each other's aspirations for literary achievement.

YAA offers a variety of free resources for youth:

Our online summer programs are free and for ages 12-17. We offer classes in a variety of genres and the 5 day class includes a guest presentation, closing ceremony, and a chance for the students to publish their work in our literary magazine. (Writers keep 100% of their rights to their own work.)

Youth can become Ambassadors and start chapters/clubs at their school. We provide all the resources and materials the club needs to function and currently have four chapters nationwide. Ambassadors also have opportunities to be spotlighted, attend in-person events, join our podcast, and other leadership opportunities we provide.

YAA has monthly online and in-person workshops. The workshops last from 1-2 hours and specializes in a topic/writing style. (Examples: Script Writing, Careers in Creative Writing, How to Develop Characters, etc.)
Ambassador Chapters: Youth can become Ambassadors and start chapters/clubs at their school. We provide all the resources and materials the club needs to function and currently have four chapters nationwide. Ambassadors also have opportunities to be spotlighted, attend in-person events, join our podcast, and other leadership opportunities we provide.

YAA's mission is to foster an inclusive and healthy environment for youth to share, create, inspire, and learn! Youth can publish on our website and 100% of the rights to their work stays with the author. We offer publication in a variety of genres including: fiction, short story, screen plays, script writing, poetry, chapter books, graphic novels, journalism, song writing, flash fiction, and much more! We also offer monthly competitions where students submit their writing under a prompt. Winners are sent digital certificates, spotlight in our literary magazines, guest appearances on our upcoming podcast, and attend our annual YAA award ceremony. We publish monthly literary magazines to showcase our youth writing, competition winners, ambassadors, and upcoming events. Because all of our services are free we rely on our own money or donors to help pay/sponsor us, we wish to also have scholarship opportunities once we grow.
